Update of measures to combat and contain the Covid-19 virus

Covid

On Saturday, March 14, 2020, a new agreement was signed between the social partners and the government regarding the protocol regulating the measures to combat and contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus in the workplace.

In addition to the measures already indicated in previous messages, the following is emphasized:

  • Periodic sanitization with 62-71% ethanol or 0.5% hydrogen peroxide or 0.1% sodium hypochlorite of the surfaces of the workplace, including all equipment for mixed use, such as keyboards, mouse, vending machine buttons, etc.;
  • The obligation to respect the interpersonal distance of at least one meter, and where this is not possible for some work activities, the obligation to use specific PPE (masks, gloves, goggles);
  • The obligation to guarantee the interpersonal distance of one meter even in common areas such as the locker room, cafeteria, etc. To this end, specific organizational measures can be adopted;
  • Failure to complete the professional and/or qualifying training update within the deadlines for all company roles/functions in the field of health and safety in the workplace, due to the ongoing emergency and therefore due to force majeure, does not make it impossible to continue the performance of the specific role/function (by way of example: the emergency worker, both fire and first aid, can continue to intervene in case of need; the forklift driver can continue to operate as a forklift driver)
  • periodic health surveillance shall not be interrupted;
  • the establishment of a company committee for the application and verification of the rules of the regulatory protocol with the participation of the trade union representatives of the companies and the RLS
