{"id":2173,"date":"2019-12-18T08:38:40","date_gmt":"2019-12-18T07:38:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gsaingegneria.kina.it\/?p=2173"},"modified":"2025-06-17T10:30:50","modified_gmt":"2025-06-17T08:30:50","slug":"transport-of-dangerous-goods-by-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gsaingegneria.it\/en\/transport-of-dangerous-goods-by-road\/","title":{"rendered":"Transport of dangerous goods by road"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transport of dangerous goods by road \u2013 ADR<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>transport of dangerous goods by road<\/strong>&nbsp;has been the object of attention by the regulatory system over time, as it brings potential problems and damage to people and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Dangerous goods<\/strong>&nbsp;,&nbsp;in fact, are those which, by their nature, can cause damage to the environment or to people&#8217;s health: even a hazardous waste which is sent for disposal or a chemical product which is returned, can cause the company to fall under the obligations of the ADR.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The aim of the International Agreement concerning the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road<\/strong>&nbsp;(&nbsp;<strong>ADR<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Accord europeo relatif au transport international des merchandises Dangereuses par Route) is to ensure that dangerous goods are transported&nbsp;<strong>safely<\/strong>&nbsp;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last update dates back to the beginning of 2019 when the annexes of the directive were updated, with a relative adaptation to new technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The legislation, in summary, defines the procedures for the preparation of dangerous goods, the suitability of vehicles and drivers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, the provisions of the ADR agreement include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the classification of dangerous substances<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the conditions of packaging of the goods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the structure of vehicles and tanks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transport requirements and travel documents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Driver licensing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the exemptions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The entire transportation process involves:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>shipper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>conveyor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>recipient<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>loader<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>packer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>filler<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>unloader<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Of particular importance are the&nbsp;<strong>obligations<\/strong>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<strong>shippers<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>transporters<\/strong>&nbsp;: in the case of shipping and\/or transport of certain quantities of dangerous goods, companies must appoint&nbsp;<strong>consultants for the safety of the transport of dangerous goods<\/strong>&nbsp;, in order to prevent any type of risk throughout the entire logistics chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>An update<\/em>&nbsp;is required every two years&nbsp;regarding the responsibility of these parties involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fines<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;(up to 8,000 euros) and the deduction of points from the license for non-compliance&nbsp;are also foreseen&nbsp; .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsaingegneria.it\/contatti-sicurezza-sul-lavoro-san-giovanni-in-persiceto\/\"><strong>GSA is available to verify the need, or not, to proceed with the appointment of the ADR consultant<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;, providing all the necessary assistance for the various regulatory obligations.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Transport of dangerous goods by road \u2013 ADR The&nbsp;transport of dangerous goods by road&nbsp;has been the object of attention by the regulatory system over time, as it brings potential problems and damage to people and the environment.
